Introducing BLACKCATHOLIC Fervorinos
I want to introduce a project I’ve been having on my mind for well over a year now. It is a type of video series I’ve wanted to do, and it’s one of those things I’ve been really wanting to get off the ground, but just never did.
It is going to be called BLACKCATHOLIC Fervorinos.
A ferverino is an Italian term that can mean a pep talk or quick exhortation or urgent response to something. In the life of the Church it can be used to refer to a brief short sermon of sorts, and so combining these types of meanings together, what I want to do for my apostolate is to have brief recorded talks/exhortations on the faith.
Over the course of my prayer life over the years I’ve always had on occasion brief moments of insight, brief moment of inspiration in which I stop and think that was a good thought. During Mass and when I’m serving at the altar especially during one of the more chill moments at Mass like the eucharistic prayer or the time after receiving communion I would start to contemplate and think upon the mysteries. Sometimes, I would have a really good insight or two. Or at other times things would just come to me. In the past I might end up actually forgetting it, especially when I am altar serving, and have to go to the next task. At times during these brief moments of insight I might start to ask my guardian angel and the Holy Spirit to keep that thought in my mind for me or to remind me of it later so I don’t forget it. Then I could write it down or put it into my phone later so I can try to further think about it and contemplate on this brief good insight at a later time. These occasions of brief faith insights and inspirations would build up over time, and I would save them.
I also would think about later how I have a passion for teaching and instruction especially on the faith. In fact, right now I’m leading a virtual RCIA class for as a ministry. So, I just started to think, “I have this passion for teaching the faith and I have these little faith insights. Let’s combine these together and try to see if there’s anything I can do for my apostolate, especially something that could be quicker than trying to type out an article.” So, I got the idea: why don’t I give brief short pep talks, quick exhortations on the faith in little short videos. These videos don’t necessarily have to have a running theme going along with it (though, sometimes that could be the case). It could be short videos that run about 5 to 7 or 8 minutes, but if I really get going they could probably get up to 10 minutes. Still, keep them short enough.
Over the course of a year I’ve been thinking BLACKCATHOLIC Ferorinos sounds like a good idea. So, now I’m finally going to get this little project off the ground, up, and running. BLACKCATHOLIC Fervorinos will be short videos of brief exhortations that will feature some of the little insights and inspirations that I’ve had over the years during my spiritual life to hopefully deepen your faith just a little bit.
I will get these videos out through the Facebook extension of my BLACKCATHOLIC apostolate because I don’t have a YouTube account for it. I would like to also provide a link of to the Facebook upload through my Twitter so you can catch those there as well.
In addition, I would like to provide a video transcripts of my BLACKCATHOLIC Fevorinos and post them up on my website, so that if you would like to have these little talks in a written format for your own private devotional life or would like to share them by email for somebody or print them out, you can have that as well. I feel like that would be a good thing to have in addition to the video.
So, BLACKCATHOLIC Ferverinos.
Let’s get to it.
