Tolton: A film about the first Black Catholic Priest in the United States (APRIL – FATHER AUGUSTUS TOLTON MONTH 2022)
I’ve shared this long ago for Black History Month celebrations one time, but it’s still a good share as a primer early on for Augustus Tolton Month for any one of you guys not familiar with him as I begin to celebrate him all April.
It is a short film about Venerable Fr. Augustus Tolton, a documentary with some nice cinematic scenes of Tolton’s life thrown in.
It was produced by the Archdiocese of Philadelphia Vocation Office for the Diocesan Priesthood and is narrated by African American Auxiliary Bishop of Chicago Joseph N. Perry who is also the Diocesan Postulator for the Cause of Fr. Tolton.
After that read up more on Tolton and my personal reflection on him at my featured page for him.
