Almost A Priest: Countdown till Ordination [T-Minus 34 days] – Leaving My Last Seminarian Assignment
As I get closer to ordination, I leave my very last assignment as a seminarian in order to embrace a new assignment, what will be my first assignment as a priest. But before I leave, I had to say goodbye to the people. It has been my honor to serve the People of God at St. Edward Church and School as I wrap up my time there and head to my new assignment. They got to see me arrive as lay seminarian, turn into a deacon, and leave with over a month before becoming a priest. Loved giving them the Eucharist, loved proclaiming the Gospel for them, loved preaching for them, and loved blessing them. As, I quoted St. Peter in my homily, “You know that I love you.” Lord willing, I will have to come back for a thanksgiving Mass when the time comes!
Here a video of my reflection on this moment:
Here’s the goodbye homily I preached for St. Edward’s.
