Finally! Thanksgiving Break!
Thanksgiving break finally came for me at the end of last week as I left St. Meinrad on Friday and made the almost 3 hour drive back to Nashville. I have been home for a couple of days already now, and in addition to chilling out I have been doing one of the things I love to do most – serving my own little part of the diocese in the form of my home parish church and another church that I have a connection to.
First I was at my parish St. Mary of the Seven Sorrows in downtown Nashville. I altar served for the Vigil Mass on Saturday and the 12 noon on today at my parish St. Mary’s above. And before the 12 noon I trained a gang of little altar servers.
Also this weekend I was at the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Nashville. I served a 2pm wedding on Saturday, and I was back here today for the 8:30 Extraordinary Form (Missa Cantana, “Sung Mass”).
Then at the end I went out for some chicken with Father!
So it was back to bouncing around my two favorite churches in Nashville. I was really working it this weekend! And my legs were dog tired today after serving two Masses and training servers in between. It’s all good, tho, because I love this work. It’s really a labor of love for the Church I love.
